Assistant Project Manager – Landscape Architect

Location: Austin, REQ471


The Assistant Project Manager position serves as an introductory position into project management. This candidate will be active in the project design and production process. They will also ensure that their project tasks remain accurate and on schedule. The Assistant Project Manager will also gain limited staff management experience which includes oversight of the technical staff and resource scheduling.


  • Production and landscape design experience
  • Assist with the execution of project tasks such as permitting and entitlement processes
  • Responsible for ensuring project tasks remain accurate and on schedule
  • Assisting with the project financial processes
  • Assisting in preparation of proposals
  • Limited client interaction
  • Assisting with overseeing the technical staff
  • Assist with resource scheduling for technical staff on your team
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture or 8 years of relevant landscape design experience without a degree
  • 5 or more years of landscape design experience, with at least one year experience as an RLA
  • At least 8 or more years of relevant landscape design experience without a degree
  • At least 3 years of project management experience required
  • At least 3 years client interaction experience required
  • At least 3 years of experience in oversight of technical staff


  • AutoCAD and Sketchup experience
  • Photoshop and InDesign experience
  • Experience in CAD standards
  • Experience in design standards
  • In-depth technical knowledge of landscape architecture
  • Basic understanding of project financial and performance metrics
  • Ability to manage multiple project tasks at a time
  • Excellent decision-making skills
  • Ability to recognize what your limitations are
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills


  • Air-conditioned office environment
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • Exposure to extreme weather and various terrain during occasional site visits
