Project Engineer – Civil

Location: Fort Worth

SUMMARY:

Work with the Project Manager to develop primarily non-routine design and analysis concepts with regard to the engineering of civil infrastructure, including paving, drainage, grading, water, and sanitary sewer (incumbent may focus on all areas or just one or two areas of specific expertise); may also assist the Project Manager in some aspects of managing large projects

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Texas
  • At least four – five years civil design or analysis experience in infrastructure, including paving, drainage, grading, water, and sanitary sewer
  • Prior experience in land/site development

Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of civil engineering processes
  • Solid knowledge of and skills with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation software or any applicable software designed for specific area of expertise
  • Solid knowledge of and ability with MS Office and Project
  • Knowledge and ability to estimate costs associated with technical tasks and understanding of basic project financial data

  • Manage multiple assignments successfully through effective multi-tasking and prioritizing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Ability to work with a team or independently as needed
  • Demonstrated ability to make effective formal verbal and written presentations
  • Ability to lead and teach less experienced engineers as well as designers and technicians

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters in Civil Engineering
  • Six plus years civil design / analysis experience, including paving, drainage, grading, water, and sanitary sewer
  • Prior project management experience
  • Involvement in professional or technical societies/organizations
