Project Engineer – Structural

Location: San Antonio

Job Summary:
Work with the Project Manager to develop primarily non-routine design and analysis concepts with regard to the design and analysis of building structures with primary construction materials, including concrete, steel, masonry, wood and aluminum; may also assist the Project Manager in some aspects of managing large projects


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and/or Architectural Engineering
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.E.)
  • At least four – five years structural design or analysis experience in building projects, including concrete, steel, masonry, wood, and aluminum

Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of structural engineering processes, including QA/QC
  • Solid knowledge of and skills with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD and Bentley products or any applicable software designed for specific area of expertise
  • Solid knowledge of and ability with MS Office and Project
  • Knowledge and ability to estimate costs associated with technical tasks and understanding of basic project financial data

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Ability to work with a team or independently as needed
  • Demonstrated ability to make effective formal verbal and written presentations
  • Ability to lead and teach less experienced engineers as well as designers and technicians


  • Masters in Structural Engineering
  • Six plus years structural design / analysis experience in building projects
  • Prior project management experience
  • Involvement in professional or technical societies/organizations
