Sr. Project Engineer – Water Resources

Location: Fort Worth, REQ446

JOB DUTIES:

  • Passion to sell and win public and governmental water resources work, and to develop a team to support that workload
  • Have a vision and strong desire to take the growth of an existing public water resources practice to the next level
  • Have developed technical capabilities in water resources, including 2D modeling expertise
  • Manages projects and client relationships
  • Manages multi-discipline projects
  • Manages Discipline Lead II and below
  • Responsible for guiding the DL II and overseeing their projects
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with the QA/QC process for all projects
  • Responsible for ensuring projects are accurate and schedule for all projects managed by them and their team(s)
  • Responsible for project financials on all projects managed by them and their team(s)
  • Manages proposal preparation independently
  • Reviews proposals prepared by the DL II and below
  • May manage multiple teams as a specialty group
  • Handles escalated employee matters
  • Responsible for managing employee development and employee performance
  • Execute the strategic and/or sales plan for your team(s)
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Prior experience with 2D flow simulation software; such as Infoworks or HEC-RAS 2D programs
  • Prior experience with FEMA Letter of Map Change requests, as well as other requirements associated with floodplain management
  • Ten or more years of H&H stormwater design experience
  • At least five years of project management experience including financial analysis
  • At least five years client management experience required
  • At least five years of experience in a supervisor role
  • At least five years of business development experience

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • In-depth knowledge of water resources line of business
  • A persuasive and dynamic personality is desired

  • Ability to collaborate with clients and within a team atmosphere
  • Knowledge of Dunaway and AEC industry project disciplines
  • In-depth knowledge of civil engineering processes, specifically in hydrology and hydraulics
  • Ability to develop design concepts for simple to complex hydrologic and hydraulic assignments
  • In-depth knowledge of and proficiency with HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS software
  • Advanced ability to estimate costs associated with technical tasks
  • Advanced understanding and ability to deliver project requirements successfully
  • Advanced understanding and management of project financial performance metrics in accordance with company goals
  • Ability to manage multi-discipline projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Full-time position of minimum of 40 hours per week on a set schedule as determined by the company; may be required to work overtime
  • Normal, air-conditioned office environment
  • Sit for extended periods of time
  • May occasionally walk during site visits
  • Ability to work remotely
  • Ability to work and collaborate across regions
